AGM 2016

AGM 2016 Group With Frame

Our AGM took place in County Hall on Wednesday, 18th of May. Young people from across Carmarthenshire attended and shared their views to managers and heads of service within Education and children’s services. Over the year we have looked at issues like bullying, domestic abuse, votes at 16. We have also been very fortunate to have Alisha represent us, Carmarthenshire and Wales in the House of Commons to discuss issues that affected us.

We also welcomed leader Emlyn Dole to our AGM, where he presented the Young People with Millennium Volunteer certificates for their good work for Carmarthenshire Youth Council. Following this, Director of Education & Children's Services, Robert Sully, presented members with Young Peoples Participation certificates.

The offices that went up for election were Chairperson, vice chair, UK Youth Parliament candidate, Comms officer and Secretary. Brittany Alsop-Bingham, 18, spoke after being re-elected to be Chairperson of Carmarthenshire Youth Council: “It’s been a really busy year for us and were proud of the work we have achieved and hope to continue our good work in the future” “I hope that in 2016 Carmarthenshire Youth Council can rise to the challenge of becoming an all-inclusive voice for young people in our county and make a real difference for young people’s lives”.
